Rain Test Apparatus for UL Rain Test and 45 ° Water Spray Test

The UL Rain Test Apparatus, offered by HONG KONG BONAD TECHNOLOGY LIMITED, is an essential tool designed to meet the housing protection grade test requirements. This apparatus ensures a stable water source with a flow velocity of 10L per minute ±5% and maintains a flow pressure between 50 and 150 kPa. The primary function of this UL rain tester is to simulate weather conditions involving rain-soaked products, such as lamps, lanterns, and other electrical devices.

Dedicated rain spray test apparatus are critical for conducting these tests accurately and reliably, helping to guarantee the safety and durability of outdoor products. The UL rain test apparatus is utilized for various outdoor installations, including street lamps, wall lamps, and distribution cabinets. This equipment complies with multiple UL standards such as UL 82, UL 8750, UL 879, UL 50E, UL 48, UL 153, UL 1598, UL 154B, UL 1703, UL 1741, UL 514B, UL 1278, and CSA standards like CSA 207, CSA 12, CSA 250.

Conducting a UL rain test requires a dedicated apparatus that typically includes a water tank, pump, and calibrated nozzle capable of delivering water at specific flow rates and pressures. During the test, the product is positioned correctly and sprayed with water from the nozzle for around 30 minutes. Post-test inspection checks for any signs of water ingress. A product passes the test if there is no visible water penetration inside its enclosure or fixture.

Rain spray testing is crucial in ensuring that products intended for outdoor use adhere to necessary safety standards and specifications. Compliance with these standards is often mandatory for products sold in the US and other countries. By employing a dedicated rain spray test apparatus like the one used for the UL rain test and the 45° water spray test (also known as the ‘rotary nozzle’ test), manufacturers can reliably verify their products' water resistance.

The rain test apparatus features three adjustable parts—upper, lower, and right—with freely adjustable dripping head heights. Constructed from high-quality SUS304 stainless steel plates both inside and out, this apparatus ensures durability. The sample frame and accessories are designed thoughtfully for long-lasting use. Additionally, it incorporates an electromagnetic flowmeter consisting of an electromagnetic flow sensor and converter based on Faraday's principle to measure and control water flow accurately.

Applications of the UL Rain Test Apparatus span across various sectors including outdoor lighting fixtures like street lamps and automobile lights; household appliances; electrical cabinets; power supplies; communication products; and signal devices. The apparatus's design ensures precise manufacturing and straightforward operation to avoid inaccuracies associated with manual adjustments in previous models.

Natural water damage from sources like rain or seawater results in significant economic losses annually due to corrosion, fading deformation strength decline, expansion, mildew growth, or even fire hazards caused by short circuits in electrical products. Therefore, conducting shell protection water tests on specific products or materials is crucial.

The main purpose of the rain test apparatus is to evaluate electronic and electrical products' physical properties under simulated rainy conditions. Post-test verification determines if the product meets required standards. This process aids in improving product design quality inspection before market release.

By integrating advanced technology processing with high-quality materials into its construction design—like SUS304 stainless steel—the rain test apparatus ensures reliable performance during rigorous testing conditions.

Specifications:
• Suitable for UL rain test and 45 degree sprinkler test
• The device consists of two parts: UL Water Spray Test Device (three UL nozzles on the top) and UL sprinkler test device (one UL nozzle on the bottom)
• The frame part of the device is made of moulded aluminium material, which has stable structure and is easy to clean
• The nozzle rack is movable and can be lifted freely by hand-operated stainless steel wheel device
• The device adopts imported nozzles originally installed in UL laboratory and fully meets UL standards
• The support base adopts universal brake casters, which are convenient to move and fix
• Use the domestic brand “Red Flag” stainless steel pressure gauge to show the water pressure (each nozzle comes with corresponding pressure gauge).
