North America Commercial frozen load test simulations AS72-2005
Model:BND-TPK04
the specification of filler packages:
filler material: material consisting of water, or of a 50/50mixture (±2%) of distilled water and propylene glycol, or wood blocks with an overall density not less than 480 kg/m3(30 lb/ft'); used for filling the refrigerator spaces not occupied by test simulators.
The filler package: a container with filler material that closely approximates food product characteristies; used to fill the spaces between test simulators for product mass.
Loading of Test Simulators and Filler Packages. The food product zones shall be filled with test simulators and filler packages as follows.
1 Test Simulator(s). A test simulator has comparable thermal characteristics with those of the great majority of foods, which typically contain 80% to 90% water, fibrous material, and salt. However, the simulator will not necessarily have exactly the same temperatures because different actual food products themselves will balance out at different temperatures in an identical environment due to differences in packaging, shape, conductivity, and related factors. These test simulators are used in the test procedure as a standard measuring device, which can be duplicated in any laboratory The simulator shall be a plastic container (such as polyethylene)of at least 473 ml (1 US liquid pint) volume, with a lid conforming to the dimensions shown in Figure 3. The container shall be filled with any natural or artificial sponge material that is saturated with a heat transfer solution consisting of a 50/50+2% mixture (by volume) of propylene glycoland distilled water.
The temperature shall be measured within the simulator at the volumetric
2. 6.2.5 Filler Packages. Filler packages used as product mass, consisting of containers with filler material that closely approximate food product characteristics, shall be located as follows.
3. The usable space where test simulators are not required shall be filled with filler packages or filler material so as to occupy between 70% and 90% of the refrigerator net usable volume and to uniformly occupy the space from the front to the rear. Nothing shall protrude beyond any load line. Tilt-down shelves on meat cases shall be loaded with a single layer of filler packages to occupy between 20% and 90%6 of the net usable volume. The shelves shall be loaded to simulate common end-use loading conditions.
